Art Appreciation
One of the first Modules I had was Art Appreciation with Ms. Magee. In this Module, we learned about different features of Georgian, Classical and roman and Greek style architecture by studying building around Ireland. One of main buildings we studied was Rossborough, in Blessington , this used a lot of Palladian architecture. For my Art Appreciation Project I chose, Andy Warhol. I really enjoyed doing my project on him as I hadn't really heard of him before and I learned a lot about him. Overall, I found this modules very interesting and beneficial, I learned that a lot more thought goes into building than I thought. It gave me a more open mind for architecture in the future.
Leadership Skills
We had Leadership Skills, as one of our modules at the start of the year with Mr. Mullholland. We learned about different leadership traits that we should look for in a leader. We looked for strong characters with good leadership skills, by watching Billy Beane in Moneyball. For my Moments of Leadership projects I chose to do Nelson Mandela and Oprah Winfrey, by doing this project, I learned a lot about what it takes to be a successful leader.
Overall, I really enjoyed this module and I thought it was very beneficial.

Computer Studies
We had computer studies as one of our modules at the start of the year with Mr Stanley. I found this module site helpful as if was a class where we learned about our blogs and how to use it. I’m glad that our form had this module at the start of the year as we were able to put up any blog posts we needed to catch up on which benefitted us all.
Public Speaking
On the second rotation of modules I got the chance to try out public speaking . It was taught by Mr Wall. The aim of the module was to improve speech writing skills, to improve speech delivery and to also improve confidence in speaking in public.
I was nervous about this modules as I am not confident speaking in front of people but I know it is something I will have to do in the future so I know it was something that would be useful to me. We were introduced to this new module by watching many inspirational speeches.
For my speech , I decided to do it on the topic of Assisted Suicide or Euthanasia. It has also been something I was curious about and something I wanted to gain more information on. I really enjoyed writing and preparing my speech as I found it very interesting learning about other people opinions on whether it should be legalised or not. We have not yet got the chance to do our examination but we are set to do it in march

Pottery
Another module I got the chance to have a go at was Pottery. I am not a very artistic person but I have always enjoyed pottery and art so I was excited to give it a go. This module was taught by one of the art teachers in the school, Mr. O' Connor. Throughout the Module we were taught how to properly shape, roll and cut the clay we worked we. We worked on many pieces such as clay pots, animal and figurative pieces. Two of the pieces I completed were my name plate and my animal sculpture of a pig. After completing this pieces they were then baked and we glazed them. I really enjoyed this module as it helped me to be more creative although even though it looks is it certainly isn't.
Health & Safety
Another module my class completed was the Health and Safety module. This class was also taught by Mr. O'Conner. It was an educational module all about health and safety we need to be aware of throughout our daily activities . We learned about hazards, and preventing injury and useful information such has how to properly lift heavy objects. I think that this module was really helpful as it covered information that is really helpful in our lives but that wouldn't be taught in normal school. It was very informative and provided us with all the correct information about how to lift heavy objects and how to try and avoid hazards in our everyday life, that can be avoided
RSE
Politics and Society
Unfortunatly I didn't enjoy this module as much as I did the others as history wouldn't be my favourite subject and I don't know much about the late 1900's. However I did love learning about discrimination in America and how Rock N' Roll had a big effect on society.
It was fun to listen to old music, learning about Rock N' Roll artists and having class debates about the ways of the past.
