3Rock Eco
On the 20th, 24th ,25th and 26th of April, I completed extra days of work experience in 3rock Eco, which is my Dads Company. 3Rock are a branding and signage company based in Clondalkin.Jennifer also joined me on Tuesday ad Wednesday which was great having someone to talk to and help out during the day. On my First Morning My uncle gave us a tour of the office and their three huge factories. There was lots of different machines and lots of people working there. We arrived each morning at 8:30am and left at 4:30 pm, with lunch from 1-2. On Thursday we rang up all the exhibitors attending TechConnect in the RDS and asked to speak to their exhibition stand manager. We told them that 3rock are an exhibition stand contractor for TechConnect and we took their emails. This was defiently a learning curve to speak to clients on the phone and try to explain to difficult clients who you are and what you do. In the afternoon, We were thean gave us a huge list of companies in alphabetical order. Myself and Jen had to ring each company and ask for their signage manager. We asked for the email of the signage manager and updated the 3rock files. We worked in the reception for three days so we also dealt with customers coming in , delieveries , incoming phone calls and the very important job of opening and closing the gate! I really enjoyed my few days in 3rock , it was defiently a good experience to have to constantly talk to clients on the phone.
Bray Lakers
On April 9th - 13th, I decided to do my week of community service in Braylakers.
Throughout the week I get to chose what activities I wanted to take part in . The activities I chose were: pottery, cooking, arts& crafts, dance, music and computers. It was in bray which made it easy for me to travel to . I also didn't gave to get up early or be home late which I found very handy. A few of the members were in a few of my classes so it was great getting to learn more about them each day.
Bray lakers is a great community and I feel like it is an experience that everyone would learn from.
I truly enjoyed my week at bray lakers, it was a lot of fun and I loved getting to know all of the members and helping in the various activities

Itoa Workshop
This week for work experience, I have been working with Claire Fishers in her job and helping her host her annual ITOA (Irish Tour Operators Association) workshops. This is a really big event for her mums business every year and a lot of work always gets put in. This year, Me and Sarah Murphy helped Claire and her mum for the week. We were meant to be in Limerick on Monday and Tuesday but unfortunately we had to post-pone it to the end of March as the weather caused us to have to cancel. On Wednesday and Thursday however, we were in Fitzpatricks castle hotel In Killiney for the Dublin workshops. There was alot of work put in leading up to the event such as packing over 250 leaflets and putting together 300 badges. All the preparation was pretty much done prior to arriving at Fitzpatricks Hotel but when we got here we had to put up all the Pop-ups for advertising and bells and computers for organisation and planning.
It was a surprisingly enjoyable experience and I would love to go next year and am very excited for Limerick.

Universal Studios
For my Second week of Work Experience, I did my placement in Angier Street. On my first day I worked in the Finanace sector of the building, I got to found out what events they were organising this year and the various cost of the events and tickets. On Tuesday they brought me to the advertisement sector of Universal which I found much more interesting. I had to research different social media platforms and competes and try to come up with good ways to advertise their clients and different things they could get them to do. I really enjoy doing my work experience in town and I think it was a good experience getting in and out independently as many of the collages are in town especially DIT which was opposite my work experience.
Unfortunately I was unable to Finish my work experience in Universal due to the weather condition by Storm Emma , which I found quite disappointing as I found my placement very interesting.

Verve , Marketing
For my first week of Work experience, I went to Verve marketing . I really like junior cert business but did not choose it as a subject for transition year and was interested in seeing if a career in business was something I'd like to do. I really liked the work space in verve and I thought it was a great work environment. My supervisor was really nice and was concerned about making my time at verve enjoyable and worthwhile. For my first few days I was shown how the company operated and what different job everyone had to do to make sure everything worked smoothly. I was kept busy by doing small jobs such as decorating their Christmas tree, wrapping present , doing spreadsheets and organising their upstairs event. The two days I enjoyed the most were the days I left the company and went to their events. On Thursday I went to their Christ coco-cola pop up store, my dads company had put together most of the store so it was interesting seeing that side of it as well . On Friday, I went and helped set up the venue for the Survey Monkey Christmas Party. This was the most enjoyable part if my work experience as I got to see the whole thing coming together and the after and after of the venue and all the work put into it before hand.
Elizabeth Clare, 13th November
On the 13th of November, I went to Elizabeth Clare in bray for Work experience.
I started my day by getting dropped to bray at 8:30. When I first arrived at Elizabeth Clare, I was greeted by Caroline Boyle who I had been emailing earlier to organise my work experience. She started off by giving me my uniform that I was going to wear. She then gave me a tour of the Montessori. She showed me, the babies room, the juniors room (aged 1-2) and the seniors room (aged 3-4). She then brought me to the front room where the children were eating their breakfast. She introduced to all the staff and then told me to follow Christine when everyone separates into their separate rooms. Christine is in change of the senior room , which is where I was helping out. By the time everyone arrives at 9 am, there are 12 children in the senior room. I quickly learned the names of all the children and got to know them pretty well. Throughout the day they take part in different activities such as, reading, drama, working and art activities like painting and drawing. They are also served a hot lunch by the cook in the Montessori and our given their own jobs for snack time.
I really enjoyed doing work experience at Elizabeth Clare and learned a lot more about kids and how to deal with their behaviour. I would love to work with kids in the future.
